I am a University of Colorado student at the Leeds School of Business, where I'm pursuing my undergraduate degree in finance. I'm also pursuing a Spanish minor. I've been teaching for several years, although to this point it has been mostly outside of academics. I provide snowboarding and skiing lessons to students of all ages, including small children and older adults. I've also had experience tutoring peers and classmates in subjects like business calculus, finance, and accounting. I've also helped friends with writing and Spanish at the high school level. I can tutor many different subjects, but my specialties are economics, math, writing, and Spanish. When I explain concepts to students, I relate them to things students know or applications in the real world. This helps makes abstract concepts more real to students, and therefore easier to understand and retain. I love learning, so when I teach others I always have a lot of enthusiasm. I believe that students truly understand a concept when they are able to teach back to me, so we do a lot of role reversal during sessions. I also love helping students develop their problem-solving in critical thinking skills so that they can become independent learners. In my spare time, I enjoy snow sports, skateboarding, watching documentaries on Netflix, doing crossword puzzles, painting, knitting, practicing photography, and traveling.
